This chapter begins with defining ratios and writing them three different ways. Equal ratios will be created and then we will define and explore the concept and relationships of numbers that are proportional. Problems with proportional reasoning will be solved using cross-multiplication to find cross-products when one term of the proportion is a variable. Specific applications using ratios/proportions include rates, unit rates, unit price, and scale.
