In this chapter we will explore multiplication and division with fractions, mixed numbers, and whole numbers. Unlike addition and subtraction , it will no longer be necessary to find common denominators which makes these skills quite easy. During multiplication we will talk about "cancelling" (simplifying before multiplying by dividng numerators and denominators by a common GCF). during division we will learn about the reciprocal or multiplicative inverse. Equations with one variable and fractions/mixed numbers will be solved using inverse operations while maintaining Properties of Equality. Word problems will also be utilized using real world applications.
