 Sixth Grade Chapter 3 Minimize

Chapter 3 begins our study of number theory concepts: prime and composite numbers, divisibility rules, greatest common factors, least common multiples, and prime factorization.  Students will write and use equilavent forms of fractions.  Mixed numbers and improper fractions and decimals will be used to compare and order different forms of numbers.  We will continue with problem solving, making tables and finding the hidden steps in multi-step problems.  After the basics we will begin fraction computation in the next few chapters.
