Chapter 9 will apply our work in fractions to measurement in the customary and metric systems.  Students will be required to memorize all measurements  of length (distance), mass (weight), and capacity (liquid) in both systems.  Fraction, decimal, and whole number calculations will be utilized both with and without calculators.  Perimeter, circumference, and area of a variety of shapes will be explored.  Other measurements for real world applications will include time and elapsed time and temperature.
